Conduzir projectos de inventariação de todos os intervenientes ou interessados no domínio dos conhecimentos do mar, da legislação nacional, comunitária e internacional e de apoio ao desenvolvimento dos interesses do mar, do seu leito e subsolo nos espaços marítimos sob soberania e jurisdição portuguesa.

Conduct projects for the inventory of all stakeholders or participants in the field of knowledge of the sea, national, community and international legislation and support the development of the interests of the sea, its bed and subsoil in maritime areas under Portuguese sovereignty and jurisdiction.

Organizar reuniões científicas, técnicas e de informação, quer de carácter nacional quer de carácter internacional, como contribuição para o progresso e divulgação dos conhecimentos sobre o mar, o seu leito e subsolo.

Organize scientific, technical and information meetings, both national and international, as a contribution to the progress and dissemination of knowledge about the sea, its seabed and subsoil.

Colaborar, científica e tecnicamente com instituições, governamentais ou não, preferencialmente de língua oficial portuguesa, no que se refere à inventariação, caracterização, valorização, aplicação e gestão dos recursos do mar, do seu leito e subsolo.

Collaborate, scientifically and technically, with institutions, governmental or non-governmental, preferably Portuguese official language, in relation to the inventory, characterization, valorisation, application and management of the resources of the sea, its seabed and subsoil.

Colaborar e desenvolver projectos, em termos lusófonos, na cooperação cientifica e técnica e na troca de informação sobre todos os assuntos do mar, do seu leito e subsolo.

Collaborate and develop projects in Lusophone terms in scientific and technical cooperation and exchange of information on all matters of the sea, its seabed and subsoil.
